Safety has always been a watchword for the waste industry, whether it is protecting workers and visitors on sites or keeping collection crews safe from harm as they complete their rounds. Great strides have been made in recent years in improving the waste and resources industry’s safety record, but more can be done to bring the sector closer to becoming a zero-harm environment.

The 2020 Health & Safety Conference, run by letsrecycle.com, will offer delegates an opportunity to hear about the latest work taking place to improve the health and safety culture within the waste and recycling sector. Topics covered will include preventing sleepers in bins, updates on enforcement from HSE, the latest research on combatting risks from kerbside collections and  handling hazardous lithium batteries.
